Located in the Bellingham Yacht Club facilities in Squalicum Harbor, Windows on the Bay Events’ panoramic waterfront view includes the San Juan Islands and beautiful Bellingham Bay.
Yes, the view gets your attention. However, it is Windows’ elegant and stylish interior that will serve your event and, thereby, your guests well.
The Great Hall
The great hall of Windows consists of a two-tiered room with marble columns and accent-lighted marble stairs.
The west side of the great hall consists of floor to ceiling windows that open onto a spacious deck that overlooks the waterfront. Windows’ western orientation affords magnificent sunsets, views of Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands.
Flexible Floor Plans
Though the two levels are only separated by three steps, they do offer drama along with the ability to create many different configurations of floor plans to accommodate any size group from forty to over two-hundred guests.
Moveable Dance Floor
Windows on the Bay’s dance floor is size-able and move-able. Its configuration and placement is determined by what fits your event, so you don’t have to configure your event around it. No dancing, then the dance floor goes away. If dancing is the main event, then place the dance floor where you would like it. It is up to you! Our event specialist will be happy to show you the different configurations for you to consider.
Soft, Flattering Lighting
The mood of any event is greatly affected by lighting; too much glare takes away from the romance, not enough has your guests squinting and searching for flashlights.You will not find one florescent bulb in our venue. Windows on the Bay’s in-house adjustable lighting is housed by hand-blown glass fixtures designed and created by local artist, Chris Morrison. His hand-formed glass wall sconces and ceiling pendants create soft up-lighting, which makes comfortable and flattering lighting for your guests.
Ceiling to Floor Window Shades
Visual presentations take on a professional air with Windows’ ability to quickly darken the room with shading and, then, just as quickly make the your event with vibrant natural light and fresh air breezes from raising the shades and opening the window-doors.
At Windows on the Bay Events, you have options! Shading for audio-visual presentations is available with a touch of the finger. Our ceiling to floor shades and black-out shades (Yes, we offer both!) quickly allow for you to control the amount of sunlight emitted.
In addition to the shades, Windows’ deck has classic retractable awnings along its entire length to adjust to our Pacific Northwest weather.
Audio-Visual Equipment & WiFi
A large projection screen, cordless micro-phones, Bose Sound System, and WiFi are also available.
Grand Foyer
The grand foyer into Windows’ great hall features a baby grand piano, bench seating for forty, a large mirror and foyer table. Seasonal floral arrangements adorn the piano and the foyer. Of course, you may decorate with your own.
The Necessary Rooms (aka restrooms)
Accommodating your guests is our priority. Separate restrooms are available for men and women. Each facility includes a spacious handicapped/ADA accessible room with its own sink along with individual facilities for three other guests.
The women’s room has a comfortable upholstered slipper chair and large make-up mirror with two sinks and shelves for holding purses, make-up, and other items. Of course, we supply a basket of “just in case” items along with breath freshener, hair spray, and hand lotion for you and your guests.
Wheel Chair Accessibility & ADA Approval
From the main front entrance to the water front deck, Windows on the Bay is easily accessible by wheel chairs and walking aids with ADA ramp accesses.
The Waterfront Deck
The spacious deck over looking the waterfront of boats in Squalicum Harbor and the beautiful San Juan Islands is accessible by easily opening the floor to ceiling “window-doors” that neatly fold away.
Collapsible, classic awnings have got you covered come rain or shine.
Space heaters for the deck are available to drive away any threat of chill. Deck chairs and square bistro tables are complimentary with venue rental.
